DAY 97 - DREADFUL SORRY

97.

DREADFUL SORRY

An early dandelion
blooms by the walk,
purple blossoms
festoon the lilac hedge.
Robins have been
gathering nesting
material all week:
twigs, moss, mud.
A little girl in pigtails
dances across the grass,
magical moments abound.
Swinging, her skirt sweeps
the ground, toes touch the sky.
Everything's unpredictable
these days, rules don't apply
anymore, nothing's the same.
She sings about
darling Clementine,
poor Clemmie, lost
and gone forever,
while trump mania
takes over the world.
